ESBOR – Education on Systems for Building Resilience Against Radicalisation
The Threat Prevention Unit of the Anti-Terrorism Centre of the ABW will implement the ESBOR project, financed from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2028 by the Internal Security Fund for 2021–2027 and the state budget. The project aims to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of public institutions in preventing radicalisation that leads to crime, violent extremism and terrorism, and to bolster the state's resilience to the risks of radicalisation and its associated challenges.
Radicalisation is a complex process that can result in violence, isolation, extremism, and threats to the safety of entire communities. Although it often develops in secret, its consequences affect us all, whether in schools, workplaces, online or in public spaces. The ESBOR project was set up to find effective solutions to counter the threat of radicalisation in penitentiaries, working together with experts from the Judiciary and its subordinate institutions, including the Prison Service. Education and prevention lie at the heart of the project's planned activities. Planned activities include developing and delivering training to public officials and preparing a tool to help assess vulnerability to escalation and identify appropriate countermeasures. The ESBOR project will involve specialists in PCVE (counter-radicalisation and countering violent extremism) from a range of backgrounds, bringing together their experience to promote knowledge with real application in everyday prevention activities. Another outcome of the project will be multimedia e-learning courses dedicated to frontline professionals and practitioners. The results achieved by the ESBOR project will be promoted at an international conference in Warsaw.
We invite you to follow the progress of the ESBOR project.
