The Council of the European Union establishes a Cybersecurity Competence Centre
The EU wants to increase the security of the online environment and the critical importance of networks and information systems by establishing resources in cybersecurity research, technology and industrial development. The new centre, which is to be located in Bucharest, will i.a. target cybersecurity funding from the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programs.
The European Centre of Industrial, Technological and Research Competence in the field of Cybersecurity will cooperate with the national economy of the centers designated by the state.
It will also combine the broadening of stakeholders, including industry interests, academia and research organizations and other relevant civil society associations, the cybersecurity competent community, by enhancing and enhancing EU-wide cybersecurity expertise.
The Centre will be in close cooperation with the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
