Spain has paid out one billion euro to victims of terrorism

Spain has paid out about 1 billion EUR to victims of terrorism in this country since 1999, informs the Spanish Ministry of the Interior. These people suffered from jihadist attacks, as well as those prepared by separatist and extreme left-wing organizations.

Assistance is provided in the form of pensions and compensations, both for the victims of the attacks and for family members - children who have lost their parents. About 10.5 thousand people will benefit from government support.

Statistics show that 70% of people receiving compensation benefits due to terrorism are victims of Basque separatists from ETA. In turn, more than 20% of victims of terrorism in Spain receive support for the damage suffered as a result of jihadist acts of terror.
