CAT ABW training for the Employment Office in Warsaw
On September 17, 2025, experts from the Counterterrorism Center of the Internal Security Agency conducted specialized training in Warsaw for employees of the Employment Office, devoted to counterterrorism prevention and cybersecurity issues.
The meeting was attended by management and employees of the office, who were introduced to the principles of the nationwide social campaign “4U!”, implemented by CAT ABW. The campaign promotes recommended ways of responding to terrorist threats, emphasizing four key principles: “Be aware, Escape, Hide, Thwart the attack!”.
During the training, a number of practical issues were discussed, concerning both the recognition of symptoms of potential threats and the correct response in crisis situations. Experts presented procedures for dealing with, among other things, a mass killer attack, receiving a package with suspicious contents, or other incidents that could threaten the safety of employees and visitors to the office.
A significant part of the training was also devoted to security issues in the digital space. Participants learned about the most common forms of cyber threats, such as phishing, social engineering, and attempts to gain unauthorized access to ICT systems. Good practices in data protection and digital hygiene, useful both at work and in private life, were also discussed.
The training was an important part of the activities of Department IX of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) aimed at improving security in public institutions, and in particular at strengthening the resilience of the Labor Office in Warsaw to terrorist and cyber threats. Thanks to such initiatives, the Office has gained practical tools and knowledge that can be used in its daily activities to ensure the safety of employees and citizens using its services.
