CAT ABW training for the Ministry of Education
On 22 May 2025, an expert from the Anti-Terrorist Centre of the Internal Security Agency conducted specialised training on anti-terrorist prevention for representatives of the Ministry of National Education.
The training was aimed at improving the competence of managers in responding to potential terrorist threats in the environment of public institutions, including educational institutions. The meeting discussed in detail the procedures to be followed
in crisis situations, such as attacks by a mass killer, the use of explosives and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) threats. The CAT ABW expert paid particular attention to the importance of rapid and adequate response, priority protection of human life and effective minimisation of the consequences of an incident.
Participants in the training were familiarised with methods of recognising signals that may indicate an increase in risk, mechanisms for preventing the escalation of threats, and the role of institutional leaders in coordinating actions in emergency situations.
The training was carried out as part of the nationwide information and education campaign ‘4U!’, which aims to raise public awareness of terrorist threats and promote responsible and thoughtful action in the face of a crisis. The campaign targets various professional and social groups, including the education sector as a key area responsible for the safety of children and young people.
The Ministry of National Education, as the institution responsible for shaping the state's education policy, is actively involved in activities to strengthen the resilience of the education system and to raise the level of security in the organisational units subordinate to the Ministry.
