Inaugural meeting of the scientific journal "Terrorism - studies, analysis, prevention"
On 26 April 2022, a meeting was held at the Central Training and Education Centre in Emowo on the occasion of the publication of the first issue of the scientific journal "Terrorism - studies, analysis, prevention", which will be published by the Internal Security Agency publishing house as a biannual. The event was attended by members of the periodical's scientific council, authors and reviewers of articles, the executive personnel of the Internal Security Agency, as well as representatives of state administration and uniformed services forming the anti-terrorist system of the Republic of Poland.
The meeting was inaugurated by the Head of the Internal Security Agency, Colonel Krzysztof Wacławek, who spoke about the publishing initiative of the Internal Security Agency, which is an attempt to respond to the need to combine scientific thought with the experience of institutions and services which cooperate within the The Interministerial Team for Terrorist Threats - which is the coordination centre of the anti-terrorist system of the Republic of Poland. Then the floor was taken by Ph.D. Paulina Piasecka, Director of the Krzysztof Liedel Terrorism Research Center at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw and a member of the Scientific Council of the journal. Ph.D. Piasecka presented the genesis of the creation of a system for coordinating activities aimed at combating terrorist threats in Poland. The next speaker was Ph.D. Damian Szlachter, Editor-in-Chief of the journal. He discussed topics including: legal and organisational aspects of increasing the effectiveness of anti-terrorist systems, ways of building resilience to terrorist attacks, new technologies as tools in the hands of terrorists, issues in the field of education and prevention of terrorism and historical issues related to terrorism and their translation to contemporary reality. The meeting was summarised by a speech of Lieutenant Colonel Grzegorz Grzegorski, Director of Terrorism Prevention Centre of Excellence of the Internal Security Agency, who presented projects undertaken by the unit as part of the broadly understood prevention and education on terrorism.
