Coordinator on anti-discrimination against Muslims

As of 1 February 2023, the European Commission has appointed Marion Lalisse as the new EU Anti-Discrimination Coordinator for Muslims.

The coordinator role was created in 2015 as a focal point for groups working against racism and Islamophobia. The previous coordinator, Tommaso Chiamparino, left his post in July 2021. Marion Lalisse has been appointed to continue working with Member States, European institutions, civil societies and academia in strengthening policy action on Muslim discrimination. In her new role, Lalisse will be the main point of contact for organisations working in this field in the EU.

Marion Lalisse has extensive experience of working closely with many EU civil society organisations and in the Muslim world. Among others, she has served as deputy EU ambassador to Yemen and has held various positions in EU delegations in Ghana, Mauritania and Morocco.

The promotion of combating hate speech in Poland is carried out, among others, by TPCoE of Internal Security Agency as part of its training on cultural differences.
