Training for liaison officers
On 18 December 2024, a CAT ABW officer conducted training in terrorist prevention for liaison officers in the context of preparations for the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
During the meeting, particular attention was paid to international issues, and threats to the security of Central European countries were characterised, with particular emphasis on Poland.
As part of the training, a typology of terrorist incidents was presented. Attention was drawn to the obligation to pay attention to the symptoms of such threats and the necessity to immediately inform the relevant services about them. Then, the principles of the social campaign 4U! were discussed, indicating recommended ways of proceeding, e.g. in the case of an action of an armed perpetrator, an assault of counter-terrorist units or the use of explosives or CBRN agents, especially through the so-called dangerous package.
The training was well received by its participants.
