Training for Prison Service personnel
On the basis of an agreement signed by the management of the Internal Security Agency and the Prison Service, from 4-8 September 2023, jointly with the Prison Service, experts of the TPCoE conducted the second series of training courses for approximately 30 officers of the Prison Service Rapid Response Teams.
The training was devoted to the main issues of counter-radicalisation and information security. In the first part of the meeting, the process of radicalisation (recognition, characteristics, substrates, factors) as well as counteracting this phenomenon were discussed.
In the following thematic blocks, TPCoE officers presented topics concerning extremist symbolism, the specificity of Islam in the contemporary world and the prevention of radicalisation of persons deprived of their liberty in the Polish penitentiary system, as well as the internal threat to uniformed services posed by radicalisation. At the very end, the topic of information security in the context of intelligence and terrorist threats was discussed.
The above event was another such awareness-raising event for Prison Service officers, conducted as part of the combined expert teams of both services. Further initiatives for Prison Service personnel raising awareness and skills on this topic are planned.
