Towards a better EU in counterterrorism
The European Parliament adopted in December 2018 the final report of the Special Committee on Terrorism, which includes recommendations on improving CT cooperation in the EU.
The report gives an overview of key activities relevant for preventing and countering terrorism in Europe. It pays attention to insufficient level of information exchange between EU agencies and security authorities of the member states. It calls on to exclude convicted terrorist offenders from being granted international protection in the EU. It also calls for the intensification of EU cooperation with neighbouring countries in the area of counter-terrorism, particularly with transit countries for terrorists.
