Europol activities in the field of terrorist prevention
February 1 this year. an action on counteracting the dissemination of terrorist content on the Internet took place at the headquarters of Europol. The European Counter-Terrorism Center (ECTC) operating within the structures of Europol coordinated the activities related to the submission of reports relating to the above-mentioned content. Specialized anti-terrorist units from France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Great Britain were also involved in the project.
Activities related to content on the chemical precursors of explosives. The action day resulted in the evaluation of 563 content on 106 websites and platforms. Among the submitted content, there were manuals and tutorials with instructions, incl. how to make explosives with the use of precursors and how to prepare and carry out terrorist attacks.
Actions taken by the countries of the European community under the aegis of Europol are an example of real preventive actions in the field of counter-terrorism prevention. The regularity of this type of action contributes to the elimination of terrorist content on the Internet, which directly increases in the level of security.
