Frontex checks the aerostatic systems in Greece
In November, the Agency will finish testing modern technology aimed at supporting search and rescue operations and combating cross-border crime, including terrorist crime.
Reconnaissance aerostats, thanks to satellite communication and a remote information portal, are to allow the monitoring of the real picture of the sea situation and the transfer of this data in real time to the relevant control authorities, which will enable an immediate reaction to the threat. The technology controls the vicinity of Alexandroupolis and the Greek island of Limnos 24 hours a day. The tests are scheduled for four months.
