UN training on CBRN
United Nation Office for Drugs and Crime conducts trainings on the threats of hazardous substances (CBRN), which – following their uncontrolled proliferation – may be used in terrorist attacks.
To this end, webinars are organized to popularize the regulations established by the United Nations on dealing with weapons of mass destruction and responding to extremist acts of violence using CBRN substances.
During the online workshops on 8-9 September 2020, the obligations were raised, imposed on UN members pursuant to Resolution 1540 (2004), which sets up the recommended preventive measures against the risk of acquiring hazardous materials by unauthorized non-state actors such as terrorist organizations.
