International meeting - Budapest (Hungary)
On 13- 15 May 2019 in Budapest (Hungary), the TPCoE together with the Croatian SOA, organized a consultation meeting with the Hungarian Counter Terrorism Centre TEK
During the meeting, the role of the abovementioned services and institutions in the context of prevention and counter-terrorism was discussed. Identification of challenges and problems related to the inflow of foreign terrorist fighters within large numbers of immigrants were pointed out. The CPT delegation visited also the transit zone for immigrants on the Hungarian-Serbian border where the topic of identifying people posing a threat to EU security was addressed. Recommendations regarding the functioning of the terrorism prevention system on the territory of the EU, including in particular in the Republic of Poland, Croatia and Hungary were adopted at the end of the meeting.
