TPCoE with the EU for the terrorism prevention
The TPCoE aims at raising awareness and improving security with respect to terrorism, asymmetric and hybrid threats, and for that purpose uses EU funds.
The TPCoE, together with Polish and foreign partners, is involved in 5 projects funded from various EU programmes. Within them, the Centre conducts awareness-raising and educational activity, as well as provides expert support with regard to terrrorism prevention.
PO WER
The project "Increasing the competences of state security services, public administration employees and scientific and research centers and the development of their cooperation in the area of national security" is implemented under the Operational Program Knowledge, Education and Development 2014-2020, Priority Axis IV Social innovation and transnational cooperation, Measure 4.3 Cooperation transnational, recruitment number: POWR.04.03.00-IP.07-00-002/18.
The aim of the project is to prepare public administration to a more effective detection and countering of terrorist and asymmetric threats, on the basis of cross-national experiences. The aim of the project will be reached based on Polish (mainly ABW) and international (mainly the Croatian SOA) experience, as well as the input from international experts. Reaching the aim of the project will result in strengthening the synergy of activities conducted by individual public administration institutions.
Asymmetric project
The project "More efficient identification of asymmetric threats - trends, indicators, dependencies" is co-financed by the European Union from the funds of the National Fund for Internal Security Program.
The aim of the project is to raise the effectiveness of countering and fighting crime by the Internal Security Agency, via boosting the Agency’s capabilities in fighting asymmetric threats, including threats that result from the disclosure of confidential information.
EU-HYBNET
Participation in the five-year project "Empowering a Pan-European Network to Counter Hybrid Threats (EU-HYBNET), financed by the Horizon 2020 program".
The project aims at enriching the existing European networks countering hybrid threats and ensuring long term sustainability. This will be achieved by defining the common requirements of European practitioners’ and other relevant actors in the field of hybrid threats. Ultimately, this can fill knowledge gaps, deal with performance needs, and enhance capabilities or research, innovation and training endeavours concerning hybrid threats.
EU-HYBNET will monitor developments in research and innovation activities as applied to hybrid threats; so to indicate priorities for innovation uptake and industrialization and to determine priorities for standardization for empowering the Pan-European network to effectively counter hybrid threats.
PREVENT2
"Procurements of innovative, advanced systems to support security inpublic transport" – the provision of innovative, advanced systems to boost security in public transport. The aim of the project is to conduct a Pre-Commercial Procurement to purchase R&D services aimed at developing prototypes of technological solutions, whose implementation will improve the coordination of the security system in transport (for its operators, services and public authorities).
INDEED
The aim of the INDEED project is to develop a model and instrument for evaluating prevention programs and initiatives in the field of radicalization. The above is to strengthen the skills of practitioners (including local institutions, social workers, education workers, representatives of law enforcement agencies, prison service, probation officers and decision makers) in the assessment of the effectiveness of preventive measures. The project will also result in the creation of a repository of good practices, recommendations and an online toolkit, which will be used by practitioners to fully assess radicalization prevention initiatives.
The project coordinator and the leader of the international research and development consortium is the Polish Platform for Homeland Security. In addition, the consortium includes 19 partners from 15 European countries with, among others, the status of government institutions, science and research centres and universities. The initiative will be implemented from September 2021 and will last 36 months.
